My favorite art is cosmetology. It's my favorite because it has a lot to do with beauty. I definitely think art carries creativity and beauty. My favorite thing about it is make up. I enjoy the art of it. A great place to get tools at is Sephora. There's been so many blogs I've seen on Instagram that inspire me to try new things and go all out. I usually do my make up when I go out to parties or family dinners. I think it really represents who a person is depending on how they do their make up.

Make up is the only thing I really enjoy. Plus, I like the fact that it's really feminine. There's so many ways to do this type of art. As long as you have the right materials, you are ready to go. 

 

Thanksgiving.

On my five days off my family and I take the time to get together. On thanksgiving we always have a huge dinner with all the sides of the family. It's always fun getting together because it's kind of the only time the whole family gets together. I really appreciate those five days off. Reason being, I get the chance to do things I don't do everyday. I love helping my mom set up the table. All my aunts, and older female cousins prepare the food. The kids usually sit in the living room and have a movie night.

Something I love about our family is that we don't only have turkey for dinner. We also have pupusas, tamales, and lots of food from El Salvador. So there's a lot to choose from. I'm super excited for this years thanksgiving.

I strongly believe people should take the time to get together with their family or friends. It's a nice time of the year. It's also important to let others know you are thankful to have them in your life. Not everyone gets to hear things like that. That's something we do.

Perseverance

I would take the 50 dollars because I wouldn't want to wait a whole year to just get 100.

Yes, I do have plans. My main goal is to live a happy, successful life.

5. Taylor Swift
The reason why Taylor Swift was one of my choices is because she's got a really girly style and I sure like that. It's always fun playing her music loudly. I enjoy singing along to her music all the time.

4. Rita OraRita Ora is one of my idols. I absolutely love and adore her style! It's incredibly unique. Her music is actually pretty appropriate. She's another one I love singing along too.

3. Honey CocaineI do not like female rappers. But Honey Cocaine is an exception because of how straight up her lyrics are. I just love her attitude. She has an independent imagine which I respect. I guess I can say she's someone I look up to. Reason being, she's stayed strong through out the struggles.

2. Kendrick LamarI love music with good, different beats. Kendrick's music is the one with that. I love his voice. His music is cool to play.

I'm into some country/ indie rock. Mumford and Sons have some really good songs. Their music is appropriate and soothing.

My Conversation with Rita Ora

If I had to choose one person I'd want to meet and have a conversation with it'd be Rita Ora. The reason why I'd want it to be her is because she's so inspirational. I absolutely love her style, attitude and music. She kind of reminds me of myself in some ways. She has a strong personality and is always positive. I love her music and the words to her songs. It's made me change the way I see things. So when I have difficulties I listen to her music and remember to see the bright side of a situation.

I'd ask about the person who inspired her to dress the way she does. It's incredibly unique. I'd want to know how she decides what to wear or how she comes up with the creative outfits. I'd ask for tips on how to combine different clothes together. I'd be so interested in knowing how she became this big star. Who motivated her to sing is another thing I'd want to talk about. I'd want to let her know how I love her positive attitude. I think her designing her own clothing line or store would be awesome. So there's another thing we'd talk about. I don't know what else, but I know I'd be very lucky to meet her.

Stranded Part 2

The reason why I chose these items is because I feel like I would actually go desperate for these things.
The sliced peaches are good enough to fill up my stomach. I wouldn't eat a while can one day. There's 12 so I'd open a can every once in a while for the 6 months. The tent's purpose is to just comfort me and to help me make me not feel too stranded. I'm sure it'd also keep my a bit warm. The emergency kit would definitely be a big help while being stranded. It carries tons of tools and comes with a blanket. I wouldn't want to get a cut infected so I'd have that to be able to cure myself. Another thing I would get would be the Suave Shampoo & Conditioner Packet. I'd get four to have enough for the six months. I'd want to keep myself clean. So these are the items I'd want to have while being stranded.

Stranded

If I was stranded I would have a boat with me. I'd have a boat to be able to get somewhere. I don't think I can handle being in one spot for days. So I'd have the boat to just move around and be able to catch fish to eat.

I'd also have some type of strong pet. Maybe like a dog. Not for help, but to just have company. I would hate the feeling of being lonely. I'd have it to be entertained or just play with. I mean, dogs are pretty smart.

I'd have different types of weapons that can cut wood, make fire, or just help me build a place to stay at. I'd need them to be able to cut different fishes to eat and stuff. I don't know what exactly I'd make but I know it'd be useful for something. I would find a lot to do with these weapons.

I am a senior at Back Bay High School. I'm only a seventeen year old girl who is trying to find her way up. I've made quite a few mistakes in my past. I've ditched school more than you can imagine. I am an ordinary lazy teenager. But even though I've messed up consistently I do regret it all. My high school years have not been much fun. I'd get into trouble, have many meetings with parents and teachers, and all that stuff you can imagine. To be honest, I'm glad I am getting help at Back Bay. I'm happy because I know I wouldn't get these opportunities at any other high school. I do appreciate every teacher and staff helping, not only me, but all of us students. I don't think many students here understand the chances we have.

This is to let you, teachers and staff, know that I do appreciate your guys's help. I do believe there is a future for me. I know I can succeed if I put my part into it. I haven't been doing my best but from now on I will work hard to graduate on time. And continue to do better.

Students should not loose hope because they are at Back Bay. In fact, they should push themselves harder to reach the finish line and get to where they want to be. The past is the past and now I have to focus on the present to give myself a brighter future.

My Wisdom

If I had a kid I would advice them to not use any type of drug. I would talk about drugs at a young age where they are mature enough to handle the subject. All these types of street drugs and any other kind are very dangerous. I wouldn't want my kid risking their life by doing these mistakes. I've seen people end up broke because of the money they spend on drugs. I've seen people get crazy trying to get the drug they want. I know a few stories about people who have ended up in the hospital for taking drugs.

I'm sure I would keep my kids away from that trouble. I wouldn't want to see them get hurt. I also wouldn't want to see them get addicted like I've seen "friends" of mine addicted to stupid drugs. I would definitely make sure they don't take anything from strangers because nowadays the world is like that. And it's sad to see so.

Heroin

Heroin is such a terrible mistake. Even the word itself sounds so terrible. I don't understand what people can find so interesting in this type of drug. It is just so harmful and like-risking. I have seen many examples of people who started doing this drug and it was not pretty at all. The whole sight is disgusting, I don't think these people are bright. If they knew better they'd know that doing it wouldn't be right. There is no excuse to start using any type of drug, mainly this one. I've seen it distance people from what really matters. For example, family, people who actually care, goals, and more.


I lost a really good friend of mine because he was caught up on this drug. It pains me to say he even started doing this. But things happen, and I hope people learn from other people's mistakes. I hate drugs. It kills the person they used to be.

I don't think smoking weed is as bad as smoking cigs. But only because I am not against weed doesn't mean I think it's totally okay for anyone to smoke it. I think only certain people should actually be able to use this. I don't consider it addicting. It just becomes a habit for some people. I don't see as many negative effects like cigs do. I find it chill for people to smoke weed, at times. Reason being, they keep it cool and not scandalous. According to some study, smoking weed doesn't seem to affect lung function.

Some people only smoke weed, and I think that's totally fine. At least they're not out there doing some hard-core stuff. If it was crack, meth, cocaine, or something it would've been worse. But no these people are just straight chilling and relaxing.

I'm not saying they should legalize it. I just think they shouldn't judge people because of this. It's not as bad as cigs. Besides if they smoke, what's it to you?

I strongly believe smoking cigarettes is disgusting. Something that really bothers me about smokers is when you are passing by and they just exhale the smoke right in front of your face. Another thing that bothers me is when they're smoking one and have their hand out with the cig while your at a stop light next to them. The effects of it are pretty disturbing. I've seen people lose teeth or have seen them have yellow teeth after smoking for years. I don't think these people understand how bad this can hurt you.

 

 

I believe people shouldn't turn towards these kind of things when they are stressing out. There's therapy and stuff like that. I don't think there is an excuse to start smoking. I'm not a smoker and I'm glad I'm not. I see all these young adults and teenagers who aren't even 18 yet smoking a pack a day. Clearly, these people aren't learning. They're slowly taking their lives away. But I sure do hope one day they realize that it wasn't the best thing or choice to do.

My Favorite Singer

Even though it may not be the most appropriate, my favorite singer is Honey Cocaine. She's a female rapper from Canada. I love her style, music, and attitude. She has this independent kind of influence. To be honest, I don't think there is a day that I don't listen to her music.

I believe it was my sophomore year when I first heard of her and did not like her music at all. But my best friend loved her so I would listen to Honey Cocaine only because my friend would play it around me. One day I decided to look her up on YouTube and carefully listened to some of her songs. There are plenty of inappropriate words but I think if someone's mature enough to handle it they should be fine listening to her music. After a while, I found myself listening to her at home and playing her album loud. Now till this day, I know her songs by memory. She's a strong, successful, independent young woman. I look up to her because of that.

If you like rap and would want to listen to a female artist I would recommend Honey Cocaine. She keeps it original. Be open minded about he music out there. You are what you listen to.

Favorite Hobby

My favorite thing to do is take pictures. I love cameras. I enjoy seeing the differences of every camera lens and find it so interesting! I don't think there's any other thing I prefer doing than taking pictures of lots of different things. Photography is my favorite hobby.

I basically put feelings and emotions into the art. Not many people understand how much easier it is to express your feelings with a camera and a lens. A lot of people have asked why I even like photography. All I can say to that is "words are just never enough for me." I strongly believe that a picture's are worth a thousand words. You can say so much from looking at one picture. The best way to do this is being alone. At least I think it is. I'm more focused on what I'm doing. I have my own Canon Rebel T3. I focus on what's important. Capturing the moment is what I do.

Ever since I got my camera I've been expressing my feelings and emotion by taking pictures. I thank my mom for buying it for me. Who knows, I probably would have been expressing my feelings the wrong way. Photography isn't just taking pictures, it's art.

Free Choice

The social network has gotten so popular now. I don't even understand how kids under than 12 years old have a Facebook. So many people all over the world use this website, including Instagram. To be honest, I used to be all about it my freshmen year till the beginning of my junior year. I strongly believe it has gotten out of hand. It was nice when people used these websites to communicate with friends, family, or people they haven't seen in a while. But now I am just so annoyed with the things people have to say. I am more than sure there are others out there who wish Facebook and Instagram were like before.

There has been so many suicides committed in the last year because of social network bullying. I don't think anyone should ever do or even think about suicide. It's absurd how people even have the time to type and post stuff about other people. I personally think you shouldn't say anything about anyone unless it is something positive. I know every will always judge but I just can't stand seeing all these unnecessary, rude comments on the internet. Instagram doesn't even have a way to message people but some immature young adults and teens still find a way to make sure they get a message out there by posting a picture and putting a bad caption about someone they don't like or get along with.

I just hope this stops as soon as possible. Too many teens are getting emotionally harmed. Words can definitely hurt someone. They can never be forgotten for some people. I guess the only thing we can do for now is just block the immature users of these websites. 

Your Favorite Movie

My favorite movie is Step Up. It's probably my favorite movie because it has a lot to do with dancing. Some actors that come out in this movie are Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan, Drew Sidora, Alyson Stoner, and much more. This movie was out in the year of 2006. The movie is about a young guy who breaks into a school and gets consequences by doing community service hours at the school. He meets Nora (Jenna Dewan) and is super attracted to her, helps her with her dancing and makes her a better dancer. They begin to have a romance and later get a contract with one the best choreographers.

When I first saw this movie a few years ago, I started wanting to be a ballerina. I remember telling my mom to sign me up for dancing classes. Since I was small my mom didn't take me so serious with the whole dancing thing. So what I would do at home was dress up like the girls that came out in the movie. I would literally dance in my living room as if there were no tomorrow. I'd play the music crazily loud. I'd play the movie and stand in front of the screen to try to do the moves. As I was growing up I started watching the rest of the Step Up movies. It's a good movie for those people who are interested in dancing and hip-hop.

I totally recommend this movie to hip-hop and ballerina dancer. It's a mixture of both and it is quite interesting. I don't think the last Step Up's made are better than the first one. It's more original and the music tracks are way better! If you like hip-hop and dancing, watch this.

Being Charitable

The charity I wish to get the money donated to is American Childhood Cancer Organization. I choose this one because it is helpful to the young kids with cancer. I strongly believe no body on this earth deserves to carry such a thing with them in their lives. I know many people who have died from cancer. I know very little who have survived or are fighting to survive. My sister had cancer at the age of 9. She is now 22, 23 next month. She is a cancer survivor. Giving these families the donation would make them so happy. I know this because of what I know from my sister's experience. It will, no doubt, brighten the lives of these kids and their families. Knowing there is hope and something can be done will help them stay strong and continue fighting. It's devastating seeing someone ache, especially a young one. This organization is to support the kids and the families of them. It provides the amount of money they might not have to pay any bills and treatment. This charity is there to help these families get through it together, not alone.

It would mean so much to me, to these kids, to the families, and to many others for the money to get donated to this charity. Please do take this in consideration. I'm more than sure that these people would appreciate it very much.

My Expertise

 There's not many things I actually enjoy doing. But make-up is one of the very few things I do enjoy.

I just find it so fascinating how all these little tools can make someone comfortable and make them feel better about themselves. I'm not saying a girl needs make-up to cover up her flaws. I just love the art and the creativity of it. If there's something i do every single day, it's doing my own make up. I don't think i can possibly go a week without make up. It's a must for me!

                       
My favorite part about doing make up is the art and result of it. I love colorful things. So when I do make up I'll choose like a neutral brown with a nice soft purple to add color. Finding different matches is always fun for me because i'm always surprised with the new shades I come up with. Something I strongly believe is necessary when having your make up done is the lipstick. You just cannot have your eyes done with no color on your lips. I mean, who likes pale lips anyway? Having at least one calm pink shade on your lips will do. I probably learned so much about make up just by playing with it, making some fun out of it. Youtube has also helped me learn because of the different videos I've watched. Watching T.V is not my thing, but when I do, I watch shows like America's Next Top Model or anything like that. Observing the make up and creative ideas is fun for me. It's fun because then I just go and take out my tools and try new, different things.

I will continue to study more make up and cosmetics. I truly enjoy and love art! This will continue to be my way of expressing it. 

Typing Some More

My previous experiences on learning how to type were having a computer class at Estancia and fifth grade keyboard practice.
The fifth grade practice was an easy thing only because I was a lot younger. It was a paper hat had the keyboard printed on it.
The cool thing about it was that we got to put our hands on it and set our fingers on the paper as if we were actually using a keyboard.
The computer class helped because I was getting used to typing random stuff without looking down at the keyboard.
Another simple way of learning how to speed up with typing was using my laptop at home.

The Best Thing I Did This Summer

I've had many boring summers in the past. I've had summer school, no time with friends, no parties, or any fun memories. Although, summer 2013 was definitely unforgettable. I spent time with friends I usually hangout with and friends I never really hung out with. I even went on a two week vacation to El Salvador. I spent my summer in different places I enjoy staying at.

 I reunited with uncles, aunts, cousins, and more family I hadn't seen in years when I went to El Salvador . That's just something I will always appreciate. Knott's Berry Farm was my favorite day of summer. Going to an amusement park is always exciting. I enjoyed going on rides and eating the tasty funnel cakes. The beach is my favorite place to spend my time at and gladly, I spent more than half of my summer there. I can finally say I am satisfied with the way I spent my summer this year.
